JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The James Valley Off Roaders (JVOF) will be hosting the 3rd Annual Cruz Schumacher Memorial Mud Drags on Sunday, June 28th.

The event features stock, street stock, modified stock, modified, open and powder puff divisions in a family friendly competition.

Tara Kapp has been with the club for nearly 20 years. She says they hold this annual event in memory of Cruz Schumacher, who passed away in an accident more than two years ago.

Kapp says the best way to memorialize and remember Cruz was to hold a race for him. She says the family-oriented races have been a great way for them to come together in his memory.

The public is invited out to the mud drags near the Stutsman County Fairgrounds beginning at 1 PM. Each class is open to the public to race in at a cost of $20 per class with payouts in each class except for stock class. Cost to attend is $10 for adults and ages 12 and under are free.
