VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Carver Pederson got offensive help a pitcher loves, early runs so he can just go out there and pitch. And that’s what happened at Charlie Brown Field Tuesday night as the Valley City Kings won 16-0 over Ellendale in Babe Ruth baseball.

Pederson threw a perfect game, 12 up, 12 down. He struck out 2 and needed just 39 pitches to do it. The kings scored a pair of runs in the first and second innings. In the first, Ethan Miller got the scoring started with a steal of home. Robert Fischer had a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0.

In the second, Miller drove in Kai Kringlie and Pederson with a single to open the lead up to 4-0.

Then the Kings put up a nine spot in the third to blow the game open. Robert Fischer drove in two runs in the inning with two singles. Zachary Sykora drove in two with a double. Espen Kunze brought home a run on a sacrifice fly, Max Mehus had an rbi single. A run scored on an error, another on a wild pitch, and Kai Kringlie had an rbi when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. After three, Kings were up 13-0.

The added three more in the fourth, Mehus had a bases loaded walk and Fischer drove in two with a double.

For the game, Fischer had three hits and drove in four. Zachary Sykora had two hits and two rbi. Ethan Miller and Max Mehus had two rbi each.

The Kings are now 12-1 on the season. The host Steele tonight at 5pm at Charlie Brown Field.
