OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes Police Department has warned residents of a string of vehicle break-ins and more in the area recently.

“We have received reports of vehicle break ins, stolen vehicles, and other suspicious activity in the past month,” the department stated on Facebook. “We currently have people from outside the area staying in Oakes and it would be a good idea to make sure doors are locked and items are secured especially at night.”

Police say they’ll continue to patrol and be visible, but are asking the public to remain on the lookout for anything suspicious to help them crack down.

“If you see something, say something. If you call our office phone it will forward to the officer’s cell phone that is currently working or on call.”

The police can be reached at 701-742-2172.
