Walk to Silence the Stigma in 2018

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – There is a real stigma surrounding suicide.

Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S. On average, there are 132 suicides per day.

When someone you know or love takes their life, it’s easy to feel alone.

Monte Rodacker with Unite to Silence the Stigma says many others go through the same thing and they want to be there to provide support.

Known typically for raising funds to help support and advertise the 1-877-273-TALK(8255), Rodacker says their planned walk on September 20th is just designed to be a support event.

Rodacker says anyone is welcome to join the walk.

The walk will be held starting at Nickeus Park in Jamestown at 2 PM. You can get more information by following Unite to Silence the Stigma on Facebook.
