GLENBURN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Cardinals led for most of the game and picked up their third victory of the year as they defeat the Sioux of Westhope/Newburg/Glenburn on Friday night 32-12. Carrington in now 2-1 in Region 2, WNG drops their first game of the year and are 2-1 in Region 2 and 4-1 overall.

The Cardinals scored the first touchdown of the game when Junior Running back Michael Clifton punched it in from seven yards out for the TD, the extra point was good making the score 8-0 with just under a minute to go in the first quarter. On the ensuing drive for WNG, Senior Running back Wyatt Lemay on first and ten rushed in from 69 yards out for his first touchdown of the game making it 8-6 Carrington. Later in the first half, he had an 80 yard score to put the Sioux in the lead 12-8 with 4:48 left in the second quarter. But the Cardinals would score the next three touchdowns to get the victory. Lemay ended with 10 carries, 189 yards and two TD’s and four catches for 45 yards. Clifton had two TD’s for the Cardinals, he now has seven for the season. Also QB Lucas Hendrickson and FB Ethan Buskness had one touchdown each.
