Lisbon, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Lisbon Broncos Football team (5-0) scored on 3 consecutive drives to open a pivotal game against rival Oakes (3-1) Friday to take a 22 to 0 lead.  The Broncos defense closed the door from there, only allowing 7 points in a 28 to 7 win.

The Oakes Tornadoes offense had scored 131 points in their previous 3 games were not able to get into the end zone until late in the 3rd quarter for their only score.  The Broncos meanwhile got touchdown runs from Hunter Schultz (2), Jordan Sours, and Boeden Greenley.

After the game Lisbon coach Joe Gerding said “I am very impressed with our kids tonight.  It was a great performance on both sides of the ball.”  Gerding was also happy with the play of qb/rb Hunter Schultz after Jordan Sours was forced from the game in the 2nd quarter with a lower body injury.  Sours injury is not considered serious.

Next up for the Broncos is the Thompson Tommies (4-1) next Friday in Lisbon.
