FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Blake Triebold and Seth Zeltinger each went 2-0 on the first day of the East Region Individual Tennis Tournament held at various locations in Fargo and West Fargo.

Triebold, the #3 seed did not lose a game in his two matches. He defeated Nick Dawson of Fargo South and Preston Elhard of West Fargo 6-0, 6-0 in both matches. Triebold, now 13-2 on the season will face eleventh seed Jake McCormick of Fargo Davies in the quarterfinals at West Fargo Sheyenne.

Seth Zeltinger worked a little harder than Triebold to get his two wins. Zeltinger, the eighth seed, defeated Connor Cook of West Fargo Sheyenne 6-2, 6-4. Then moved into the quarterfinals with a 7-6 (8-6), 6-4 win over ninth seed David Comings of Wahpeton. Now the task gets tougher, Zeltinger will take on top seed Logan Sandberg of Grand ForksCentral in the quarters Saturday.

Alex Rogelstad lost his first match to Espen Schneider of Grand Forks Red River 6-0, 6-0. He would come back to defeat Mansib Rahman 8-3 in the consolation round, but then dropped an 8-1 decision to Brett Skeldum of Fargo North to end his season.

In doubles, Ethan Bear and Miles Taylor dropped both of their matches. They lost to Andrew Withuski and Alex Comings of Wahpeton 6-3, 6-4. Then they fell to Chase Bry and Anthony Erickson of Fargo South 8-1 to end the season.

Kai Kringlie and Derek Bear, the 10th seed, got a bye in the first round. In the second round, they faced the seventh seed Jaron Dufault and Ryan Kennelly of Fargo North. They would drop that match 6-2, 7-6. But Kringlie and Bear would battle back in the consolation and win two matches. The first was an 8-1 decision over Atticus Baker and Benjamin Moen of Fargo North. Moved into the consolation quarterfinals with an 8-4 win over Noah Christiansen and William Solberg of West Fargo Sheyenne. They will face ninth seed Drew Sperle and Kasan Baer of West Fargo Sheyenne.
