COOPERSTOWN, N.D. (newsdakota.com) – It took a hard-fought effort from the Oakes volleyball team (11-0) to remain perfect but they did just that.

Oakes defeated Griggs/Midkota (2-6) in straight sets (25-23, 25-19, 25-15) Tuesday night despite a sloppy performance at times. Oakes committed nine service errors and four in the first set alone, but Oakes overcame it easily down the stretch of the 2nd and third sets.

Sadie Hansen was a force at the service line recording a match high six aces, while Oakes as a team recorded ten. Hansen also poured in nine kills and 15 assists to lead the team. Emma Muggli was Oakes’ leading attacker with 11 kills and also was involved in 6 blocks with one solo.

Oakes’ next time out is Saturday at home against New Rockford/Sheyenne at 3:00.
