Carrington, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—–The Our Redeemers girls volleyball team defeated the Carrington Cardinal’s in a five set thriller Saturday afternoon at Carrington High school. The Knights won the opening set convincingly 25-16. Carrington would respond with back to back wins in sets 2 and 3 (25-20, 25-22). The Knights fought back to win the 4th set 28-26 after trailing 24-21 late. The Knights capped off the 5 set victory with an exciting 16-14 victory.

Sydney Popinga led the offensive attack for the Knights with a team high 15 kills and 4 service aces. Olivia Nelson added 13 kills and 4 stuff blocks. Junior setter Eden Olson added 10 kills and a team high 39 assists, and 3 service aces. The Knights collected 13 service aces overall, Halle Vibeto added 3 aces. Kendal Braun collected a team high 38 digs to lead a stingy defense.

Carrington was paced by Hannah Hagel’s game high 21 kills and 4 service aces.  Sydnie Grager added 10 kills and 3 stuff blocks. Tessa Page had 32 assists for the Cards. Our Redeemers improved to 9-6 overall and Carrington dropped to 6-3. Carrington will host LaMoure-LM on Monday (10/12) and will be aired  on AM 1600 KDAK (THE CARDINAL), FM 100.1, and www.newsdakota.com starting around 7:00 P.M.
