Carrington, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—–The Carrington girls volleyball team playing shorthanded, missing 4 starters rallied to a 5 set victory over LaMoure-L-M (LLM), 20-25, 10-25, 25-18, 25-17, 20-18 to capture a big district 5 win. LLM appeared to be on the verge of a straight set victory after blowing out the Cardinals in the second set 25-10 and taking a 2-0 lead in the match. The Cardinals bounced back with a 25-18 third set victory and followed that up with a 25-17 set four win.

Junior middle hitter Sydnie Grager paced the Cardinals offense with a match high 23 kills. The 6′ Grager also had a match high 8 stuff blocks aiding the Cardinals defensively. Emma Rindy had a solid match filling in at the setter position with 23 assists, 6 kills, and 4 service aces. Mya Schroeder and Taryn Hoeckle combined for 10 kills to also aid the Cards offense.

Ashlyn Rode paced the Loboes offense with 15 kills. Heidi Steffes added 10 kills and Molly Musland added 7 kills and 5 service aces. Risa Rasmusson had a match high 7 service aces for the Loboes.

LLM dropped to 8-6 overall and 3-2 in district 5 play while Carrington improved to 7-3 overall and 3-0 in district 5 play. Carrington will travel to Oakes on Tuesday night in another district 5 match.
