Lisbon, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Lisbon Broncos opened the 2020 North Dakota class A state football playoffs with a 38 to 24 win against Harvey/Wells County Saturday afternoon. It was another big rushing day for the Broncos two headed backfield.  #2 Jordan Sours ran for 205 yards and 3 td’s.  #12 Hunter Schultz ran for 159 yards and 2 td’s.

After the game, Broncos coach Joe Gerding had this to say:  “A playoff win is a playoff win.  You could see some rust after a three week layoff.  I told the guys after the game that it felt like a roller-coaster game.” Gerding added that “we are looking forward to getting back to our normal week of prep.”  The Broncos team had been in isolation until this past Thursday because of Covid-19.

It took the Broncos 16 seconds to score their first points of the game on a 62 run by #12 Hunter Schultz.  The 2 pt. was run in by#2 Jordan Sours, giving the Broncos an 8 to 0 lead with 11:44 remaining in the 1st.
