VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – In the Barnes County District 1 commission race incumbent Cindy Schwehr defeated Rockne Earles by 163 votes. Schwehr had 657 votes. Earles received 494 votes.

In the Barnes County District 5 commission race Pete Paulson defeated Scott Cole by 60 votes. Paulson got 546 and Cole received 486 votes in Tuesday’s election.

Barnes County Auditor Beth Didier said the total number of ballots cast was 5,547 of those 4,233 were absentee and 1,314 ballots were cast on election day November 3rd in Barnes County.
