JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Fire Department was called to 124 1st Street East Tuesday morning to the Schubert’s Carpet One building.

It was determined the smell that traveled within the building was the boiler releasing “off-gas.” Reuther stated that five building occupants on the second floor were evacuated as a precaution.

No injuries were reported.

Five city fire units and 23 fire fighters were on the scene for nearly 40 minutes. Jamestown Police and Jamestown Ambulance were also on scene.
