Kyle was born September 6, 1964 to Fritz and Diane Kohn in Valley City, ND.  During high school, Kyle started working for his uncle Gerhard Kohn at Valley Meat in Valley City.  Graduating in 1982, he moved into the Valley City Fire Department and became a volunteer firefighter.

In June of 1983, Kyle was in a car accident that left him with a severe brain injury.  He lived in many rehab centers before calling the High Soaring Eagles Ranch his home from October 1, 1987 to February 12, 2013 when he entered the Sheyenne Care Center.  One thing his siblings can say about their brother, is it never let him down and his sense of humor was always with him and he loved to joke with people.

Kyle leaves behind his mother, Diane Kohn; sister, Kari (Don) Jones; brothers, Kelly and Kirk Kohn all of Valley City; 4 nieces, Sarah Olstad of Jamestown, Hailey and Ali Kohn of Valley City, and Heather Jones Smith of Valley City; 3 nephews, Brett and Braedan Kohn and Anthony Olstad-Kohn all of Valley City; aunts and uncles, Giesla and Al Cruchet of Hankinson, ND, Joyce (the late Kurt) Kohn of Hastings, MN and Daryl Olsberg of Valley City.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fritz Kohn; grandparents, Myles Olsberg, Dora Olsberg, Karl and Gertrude Kohn; and his uncle Gerhard Kohn.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the High Soaring Eagles Ranch, Valley City.
