The North Dakota Lamb and Wool Producers Association and Minnesota Lamb and Wool Producers Association, with collaboration from North Dakota State University Extension and University of Minnesota Extension, will host a virtual joint convention on Saturday, Dec. 5.

The online webinar will begin at 9:30 a.m. Central time with educational sheep, lamb and wool industry updates. Speakers will include representatives of the American Lamb Board, American Sheep Industry Association, North Dakota Livestock Alliance, Dakota Fiber Mill and Superior Farms.

“Through a challenging 2020, we strive to provide timely and impactful information for our North Dakota and Minnesota sheep producers,” says Travis Hoffman, NDSU/University of Minnesota Extension sheep specialist. “There has been increased interest in sheep production, our markets have rebounded and we have a bright future.”

The two states’ producer associations will meet via Zoom webinar at 11 a.m. Central time for their annual business meeting.

“This year’s virtual convention will be free of charge for North Dakota/Minnesota Lamb and Wool Producers members,” says Curt Stanley, North Dakota Lamb and Wool Producers Association president. “We welcome all sheep enthusiasts to join us.”

Jeremy Geske, Minnesota Lamb and Wool Producers Association secretary, says, “Our sheep industry is strengthened with relationships. This virtual convention will allow producer education this year, and we look forward to a joint convention in Fargo in early December 2021.”
