On Wednesday, December 8, 2020, Mary Terese McGough went home to be with the Lord with her loving husband at her side. Mary was born to Gereld “Bus” and Agnes “Iney” Didier on October 15, 1953 in Valley City, ND. She graduated from North Central High School. She married Robert (Bob) McGough on November 25, 1972 in Sanborn, ND. Over the course of the next 40 years, Mary not only supported her husband and raised her two sons, but she also assisted other military families through her various positions within the government service sector.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, her grandchildren were the highlight of her life. She had a very strong faith in the Lord. She and Bob enjoyed volunteering in different churches that they belonged to throughout her life. Mary was strongly loved by everyone she encountered.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, Bob of 48 wonderful years; her two sons; Rob (Pam); Ryan (Kelley); 6 grandchildren, Caden, Bridger, Lilly, Violet, Rowen and Iyla. She also leaves behind 4 brothers and 1 sister: Karen (Tony), Lenny (Bonnie), Mike (Sally), Tom (Julie), Ed (Deb) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gereld (Bus) and Agnes, her sister, Sister Maurine and her brother Jim.

The family would like to recognize The Legacy Place, Nikki Grebel, Heather Reinhart and all of the wonderful staff who took the very best care of Mary.

Visitation will be from 5pm -6:30pm on Thursday, December 10 with the Rosary and prayer service being at 6:40pm at St. Catherine’s Church, Valley City. Her life will be honored with a private family service at 10:30 followed by a burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery at 12:30. COVID 19 regulations will be followed and masks will be required in the church and we will have a limited amount of seating available.
