JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Construction on the shared University of Jamestown and Jamestown High School stadium and practice field is well ahead of schedule.

Jamestown Public School Superintendent Dr. Rob Lech reports that fundraising on the project is continuing, with a generous donation of $500,000 recently announced by Unison Bank.

Dr. Lech added that the ability to quickly fundraise is indicative of the community support of the $11.5 million project and they feel they’re “on the right track.”

JLG architects has kept both the University and Jamestown Schools updated on the construction progress. Dr. Lech says good weather has really put the project ahead of schedule.

Lech added that he, Athletic Director Jim Roaldson and High School Principal Adam Gehlhar have meet with architects to review priorities for the new space.

According to the latest construction update, around 85% of the demolition work has been completed and 35% of the earthwork being complete.

The project looks to be finished and ready for use in September 2021.
