CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Carrington Public School Board met Tuesday in what Superintendent Kris Kuehn describes as one of their busiest meetings yet.

Several items were discussed including the completion of their 2019-2020 audit. Kuehn says Schauer & Associates reported a clean audit with no findings and found all financials to be in order. In his administrative report, Kuehn says it continues to stay busy within the district.

Kuehn says the board also addressed the current COVID-19 protocols within the schools.

Kuehn says with low COVID-19 numbers among students, it shows that masks have been working for them and will allow them to continue face to face learning.

Later discussion was held on staff leave in relation to COVID-19.

Kuehn says the COVID-19 leave will be extended through March 31st.

There has also been interest in adding girls fastpitch as an activity for the 2021-2022 school year. Kuehn says the board approved to begin adding that and will look to begin hiring coaches and equipment. The board also entered into a long-term lease with the Carrington Parks & Recreation Department for use of their fields for baseball and softball.
