JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Blue Jay hockey team scored two goals in thirteen seconds in the third period to force overtime but were unable to take down Dickinson as the Midgets ended up victorious 3-2.

Both goals in the third for Jamestown came in the final minute of play off the stick of Hunter Nelson. Dickinson had scored an empty netter on the power play with less than two minutes to go before the Blue Jays miraculously came back to tie it.

In overtime, Jamestown circled the puck in the Dickinson end, getting four shots on goal before Dickinson was able to put the puck in the net to finish the game.

The Midgets move on to a state qualifier game at 10 am on Saturday in Minot. Dickinson will be taking on Williston to determine who heads to state.

Jamestown finishes the year at 13-5 overall, and Nolan Nenow led the Blue Jays and the state in goals with 24. Jace Thompson finishes as the team’s leader in points at 39.
