JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – For the sixth year in a row and the eighth in the last nine, Dickinson won the  state gymnastics meet. The Midgets scored a 148.500. Valley City took home second place with a 145.750. It was the best finish for the Hi-Liner since 1982.

Dickinson took first in all four events while the Hi-Liners took second in all four. Jamestown was third with a 144.400. Bismarck Legacy was fourth with a 144.017. Fifth went to Grand Forks with a 134.783. Bismarck Century was sixth with a 131.583. Mandan took seventh with a 128.283 and Wahpeton-Breckenridge was eighth with a 125.783.

Amy Fridley if Dickinson took first in the All-Around with a 38.050. She would take first in the vault, beam and floor. Abby Thornton kept her from getting the clean sweep by taking the bars with a 9.483 and Fridley was second with a 9.283.

On the vault, Jocey Kriewald took fourth. Abby Thornton was seventh, Karina Olson took 11th, Olivia Olson was 15th, Maddie Wendel was 18th and Grace Undem was 20th.

Following Abby Thornton on the bars for the Hi-Liners was Karina Olson ninth, Jocey Kriewald tenth, Olivia Olson 14th, Grace Undem 23rd and Maddie Wendel 31st.

Olivia Olson was the top Hi-Liner on the beam, she took fourth. Karina Olson was eighth, Abby Thornton was eleventh, Grace Undem was 26th, Jocey Kriewald was 29th and Zoe Bjerke was 33rd.

On the floor, Karina Olson and Jocey Kriewald tied for fourth, Grace Undem was ninth, Olivia Olson was 12th, Abby Thornton was 15th and Maddie Wendel was 30th.

Abby Thornton was fourth in the All Around. Karina Olson was sixth, Olivia Olson was tenth, Jocey Kriewald was 12th, Grace Undem 16th and Maddie Wendel was 32nd.

The Individual State meet will be held on Saturday with competition beginning at 12:00pm at Jerry Meyer Arena in Jamestown.
