MADSION, S.D. (playnorthstar.com) – Valley City State men’s basketball players Kevin SchrammJalen Addison, and Connor Entzi were named to the North Star Athletic Assoication (NSAA) Men’s Basketball All-Conference Teams, the conference office announced Monday. Junior Chris Thompson was awarded NSAA Defensive Player of the Year.

Chris Thompson fueled a strong Viking defense this season, totaling 44 steals and eight blocked shots in his junior campaign. Thompson set a new school record with nine steals against Baptist Bible College on Nov. 21. He also averaged 9.5 points per game this season, shooting 56.6 from the field.

Kevin Schramm was named First Team All-Conference after leading the Vikings with 11.8 points per game on a 47.9 field goal percentage. He also recorded a team-high 6.2 rebounds per game and totaled five blocks this season.

Jalen Addison was selected as Second Team All-Conference and posted 11.5 points per game, including a team-high 47 three-pointers. Addison shot 45.5 percent from the field and 42.3 percent on three-pointers this season.

Senior Connor Entzi was named Honorable Mention All-Conference, averaging 9.4 points on 51.8 percent shooting.

VCSU junior Hunter Sand was named an NSAA Champion of Character.

Latrelle Franklin of Mayville State was selected as the league’s Player-of-the-Year.  Bryce Knox of Dickinson State (N.D.) was named as the North Star Athletic Association’s Newcomer-of-the-Year.

MSU’s Darren Tighe was chosen as the conference’s Coach-of-the-Year award.
