JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – Freshman Derek Owens of the #4 ranked Jamestown men’s volleyball team has been named the GPAC Attacker of the Week for the third time in six weeks.

Owens had another monster week for the Jimmies, hitting .441 with 22 kills on just 34 attempts in two matches. He’s currently hitting above .500 on the year at .511, good for seventh-best in the NAIA. Owens averaged nearly four kills per set for Jamestown in the two matches last week against Dordt.

UJ wrapped up its regular season with an 18-2 overall record and a #4 ranking in the country. The Jimmies will open up the GPAC postseason tournament on April 9th when they host Morningside at 7 pm. Harold Newman Arena will host the entire men’s GPAC postseason tournament on April 9th and 10th.
