JAMESTOWN, N.D. (JimmiePride.com) – The University of Jamestown women’s soccer team looks to clinch a spot in the finals of the GPAC postseason tournament, but will have to get past No. 18 Briar Cliff (Iowa) University in a semifinal matchup Tuesday at 1 p.m.

Jamestown (12-7), seeded fifth in the postseason tournament, won on the road Saturday at fourth-seed Hastings (Neb.) College by a 2-1 score. Briar Cliff (12-1-2), the tournament’s top seed, took care of Dordt (Iowa) 4-1 on Saturday.

Tuesday’s other semifinal matchup has seventh seed Midland (Neb.) at third seed Concordia (Neb.) beginning at 7 p.m.

The winners of Tuesday’s games will meet Friday in the championship game with the higher seed hosting.

UJ is led in scoring by Kamryn Fiscus (SO/Yakima, Wash.), with 10 goals and 10 assists. Gaby Sarkis (FR/New South Wales, Australia), Penelope Hoppe (JR/Temecula, Calif.), and Karlie Hintze (SO/Herald, Calif.) all have three goals each. Claire Struble (JR/Murrieta, Calif.), Briana Perry (JR/Las Vegas, Nev.), and Kalese Sunamoto (FR/Reedley, Calif.) are tied for second on the team with three assists.

Alex Nowka (SO/Anchorage, Alaska) has played the entire season in goal for the Jimmies, making 66 saves and posting eight clean sheets.

Flor Suarez is the leading goal scorer for Briar Cliff with 15. Taylor Hill has eight assists, followed by Suarez with six. Ruby Campa has played all but 62 minutes in goal for the Chargers, conceding just five goals all season. She has 45 saves and a .900 save percentage.
