Ronita Roann Haws was born in LaMoure, ND to Charles and Marlys (Halverson) Haws.  She attended school in LaMoure, Valley City, and Fargo, ND.  Throughout Roni’s life, she worked various jobs and met a lot of people along the way.  She owned and operated the bar in Grand Rapids, ND and was a para professional at the school in LaMoure.

In her younger years, she loved to ride horse.  She took up trapping and was known to shoot a game of pool or two.  Her porcupine meatballs were amazing.  The thing Roni will be most remembered for will be her strength…her strong will, her strong love, her strong personality.  She was a problem solver, she was a giver, she was the best daughter, mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend she could be.

Roni had a huge family, many “kids” called her mom.  She is survived by her daughters, Jaeda (Cody) Ertelt, Rikki Haarsager, and Randi Haarsager all of Fargo; grandchildren, Kierstin, Kaleb, Jasmine, Jaxon, and Lilly; her mother, Marlys of Fargo; her sisters, Susan (John) Salzsieder of Helena, MT, Patty Gemelke of Chaffee, ND, and Julie Stanley of Fingal, ND; her companion, Mike Stanley; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Nathaniel Haws; her father, Charles; brother, Rick Haws; and her dog, Petey.

Lerud Mathias Funeral Home in Valley City is assisting her family with arrangements.
