CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – CHI St. Alexius Health Carrington has implemented visitor restrictions.

No visitors are allowed to accompany patients at this time unless the patient is a minor, or the patient suffers from disabilities that require the assistance of another person.

This decision was made due to COVID positive and Influenza positive patients being admitted to the hospital.

“We are also seeing increased positivity rates to both illnesses in our service area,” the hospital stated. “We felt the decision needed to be made to protect our patients and our staff from disease spread. Thank you for your continued support and understanding during these uncertain times.”

Visitations were also restricted at the Carrington nursing home. 2 visitors will be allowed per resident at one time. Outings are allowed, but whenever possible, residents and guests are encouraged to avoid large gatherings, maintain social distance, wear a mask, and use hand hygiene. Unvaccinated residents who go on outings will be required to quarantine for 14 days upon return.

All visitors will be required to wear a facemask in the facility and during visits, regardless of vaccination status.

“We dislike having to go backwards with our visitation guidelines, but it is strongly needed to protect our residents and staff due to the Delta Variant,” the nursing home says in a release.
