JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown School Board received the enrollment numbers for the school district Monday night.

In the first four weeks of school enrollment, a total of 2190 students were reported at all public schools. 909 students are in elementary, 547 at the middle school, and 734 at the high school.

Leading the way for elementary schools as far as enrollment counts is Gussner Elementary with 261 students, followed by Lincoln with 234, Roosevelt with 216, Louis L’Amour with 102, and Washington with 96.

Jamestown Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Rob Lech also reported the latest regarding COVID-19 in the district.

Dr. Lech says it still appears the schools could be on the “pathway” as numbers are trending to make November positives match last years positives. He says they’ll keep collecting data and analyzing for their report every Friday on the school districts website.

Dr. Lech says as far as vaccine mandates, there will be nothing implemented in the Jamestown Public School District.

The Jamestown Public School District continues to offer Binax rapid testing for staff on an “as-needed” basis. Dr. Lech pointed out that JPS staff exhibits one of the highest vaccination rates in North Dakota schools at 68% fully vaccinated.
