Jacqueline Wadeson, 85, Alice, ND passed away at her home while under Hospice care on September 20, 2021. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fingal, ND. Visitation will be at the church on Sunday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at which time a prayer service will begin. She will be laid to rest in the Fargo National Cemetery, Harwood, ND. Jacqueline was born at St. John’s Hospital in Fargo, ND on January 23, 1936. She attended St. Catherine (Valley City, ND) and Oriska Public Schools. She graduated with the class of 1954. In August of 1954, she joined the US Army serving 2 years in Women’s Army Corp. She was stationed in Japan during the Korean War, making her a Korean War Veteran. She was honorably discharged in August of 1956.

After her military service, she attended Dakota Business College in Fargo. While at school, she worked part time for Crescent Jewelry. For 6 years, she lived in Denver, CO working for Americana Corp then returned to ND where she worked for Grotberg Electric in Valley City. She also worked 14 years at Maryhill Manor (formerly Hillcrest Manor) in Enderlin, ND.

On December 27, 1965, she married Richard “Dick” Wadeson at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Oriska. They welcomed 2 children to this union.

She was a member of the St. Henry’s Catholic Church and Ladies’ Aid. While serving on the Ladies’ Aid she served a variety of offices. Jackie was Clifton Township Clerk. She was a lifetime member of the Enderlin VFW.

Family time was special to Jacqueline. She enjoyed her granddaughters’ activities, her daughter’s public speaking events and watching her son race his car. Spending time in her garden and reading most anything she could get her hands on were a few other things she liked to do.

Jacqueline is survived by her children, William T. and Heidi L. (Scott) Zwetzig; 3 granddaughters, Megan (Ryan) Korynta, Morgan (Travis) and Madison Zwetzig; 3 great grandsons, Lincoln, River and Maverick; 4 sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Dick passed away in 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Louise; and brothers, Raymond, David and Ronald Winkler.

In lieu of flowers, Jacqueline requested that donations be made to the ND State School of Science Diesel Mechanic Program or the University of Mary Nursing Program.
