VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Hi-Liners were looking to get back into the win column this evening, and forget about last Thursday’s home loss to Sheyenne. On this Monday night, Valley City made quick work of the Grand Forks Central Knights by sweeping the match by the same score in all three sets, 25-14.

In the first match up the teams were exchanging points and were at one pint, tied at 13. The match up, and the night would change when Hi-Liners coach Rebekah DePesa called a time out to speak with her team. After the time out, the Hi-Liners cruised to the first match win 25-14.

In the second set, Valley City jumped out to a 4 point lead, only to see it dwindle down to 1. However, with the strong play of Peyton Pederson, Addy Kvilvang, and the assists by Dylann Diegel carried the Hi-Liners to another 25-14 victory.

In the third set, the Hi-Liners showed that they were the better and more dominant team. In this match up Peyton Pederson was great serving, Samantha Hatcher was excellent with getting kills, and Addy Kvilvang continued to show her expertise in the front row rejecting any threat from the Knights. Valley City completes the sweep with another 25-14 win.

On the evening Dylann Diegel lead the way with 13 digs, followed by Abby Thornton who had 12. Diegel also lead the Hi-Liners with 32 assists in tonight’s matches. Peyton Pederson with 13 kills on the evening, the most by a Hi-Liner.

Next up for Valley City is another home match up on Tuesday night as they welcome South Fargo to town for a 7PM match up at the Hi-Liner Activity Center. The match can be heard on KOVC.
