VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A man riding a red motorized wheelchair was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Central Avenue South and Main Street in Valley City about 11:21am on October 25th.

Police Chief Phil Hatcher said a vehicle driven by a 79-year-old Valley City resident struck a pedestrian on a mobility scooter, driven by an 88-year-old Valley City resident. The driver was issued a citation for failure to yield to a pedestrian. The pedestrian was taken to Mercy Hospital for unspecified injuries.

Police officers from the Valley City police department assisted paramedics with the Barnes County Ambulance at the scene. The injured man was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries. The name and condition of the man have not been released.
