JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The National Buffalo Museum’s mission is to advocate for the restoration of the North American Bison through education and outreach.

Over it’s history, the museum has used a variety of ways to help tell the story of the bison and assist with the repopulation of the animal. One of the most recent and unique way the museum has told the story is through a gallery titled “I AM BISON.”

Rachel Johnson is the Assistant Director and Curator of Collections at the museum.

Along with the final view opportunity for the exhibit, Johnson says they’ll also be celebrating National Bison Day by waving their typical admission to the museum on November 6th only.

Cost of admission is usually $8 for adults and $6 for children, seniors, and active military members. Johnson says they also offer free admission for SNAP card holders for up to four individuals.

While the exhibit may be leaving after this weekend, Johnson added that they are open year round for anyone who may want to stop by.

The museum is open Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM at 500 17th St SE in Jamestown.
