JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Emergency crews responded to a crash south of Jamestown on New Year’s Eve.

The crash happened just after 9:20 p.m. on Friday, 2 miles south of Jamestown on Highway 281.

A 2001 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Ian Winchester of Jamestown, and a 2016 International Truck with a flatbed load of lumber, driven by Darshan Singh of Saskatchewan, were traveling southbound on Highway 281.  The semi began to pass the suburban, while the suburban was attempting to make a left-hand turn, striking the vehicle.  Both the semi and suburban were pulled into the ditch, with the semi falling onto its side.

Winchester received minor injuries.  Both drivers were able to exit their vehicles and refused medical treatment on the scene.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol was assisted by the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office and Jamestown Ambulance.  The crash remains under investigation.
