Carrington, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—–The Carrington Cardinals trailed 19-13 after the opening quarter and 27-21 at halftime before the Cardinals outscored the Loboes 13-2 in the third quarter. Leading 34-29 heading to the fourth quarter the Cards held on and outscored LLM 16-14 in the final frame for the 7 point win. Madison Johnson (sophomore guard) sparked the Cards with 13 points off the bench and added 6 steals and relentless defensive pressure to aid the Cardinal victory. Sydnie Grager (6′ senior) had a game high 15 points and Emma Rindy added 9 points (3-three pointers), including 2 big triples in the final quarter. Haley Wolsky also added 10 points for the Cards. The Loboes were paced by Molly Musland with a team high 14 points and Tessa Rasmussen added 13 points. Eighth grader Nora DelaBarre added 8 point for the Loboes. LLM dropped to 11-3 overall and 3-2 in District 5 play and the Cards improved to 8-5 overall and 4-1 in district play. The Cards will travel to Kulm on Friday night against seventh rated EKM.
