BISMARCK, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Blue Jay girls tennis team picked up a 3-2 victory over Mandan in a West Region play-in match on Monday night as Jamestown clinched a spot in the WDA Tournament.

Phoebe Olson and Mya Henderson picked up wins at #1 and #2 singles for the Jays and #2 doubles Grace and Isabel LeFevre won in three sets to give Jamestown its first WDA win of the year. With the win, the Blue Jays will now take on first seeded Minot in the West Region Tournament starting on Friday in Minot.

Olson stayed unbeaten in WDA in singles by winning 6-0 and 6-0 over Allie Ereth. Henderson won 6-3 and 6-3 against Audrey Duppong before the LeFevre’s got the win for Jamestown 6-4, 4-6, and 6-4 to secure the victory. Jamestown is now 4-11 overall as a team this season.
