The funeral service for Shirley Ann Weight, 86, Lisbon, ND will be 2 pm Friday, July 22, 2022 at the Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City, ND. Visitation will one hour before the service. Burial will be at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Litchville, ND following the service.
She passed away July 18, 2022 at Parkside Lutheran Home, Lisbon, ND. Shirleywas born March 30, 1936 in Prairie Township, LaMoure County, ND to Ida (Schwartz) and William Weight. She was baptized and confirmed at the Griswold Lutheran Church.
She graduated from Litchville High School in 1954. After graduating from Business College in Fargo, Shirley worked for North Dakota Farmers Union in Jamestown. She moved to LaMoure where she worked at the LaMoure Bank from 1968 to 1972. She, also, worked at REA in Edgeley, ND before moving to Fargo. Shirley worked at Gaffaney’s, Eagles Club, Quality Bakery, and 8 years at Big Top Bingo. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fargo.
She was a proud member of the Plain Arts Museum. In 2013, Shirley moved to the Beverley Ann in Lisbon and was a resident there for 7 years and last 2 years at Parkside. She enjoyed walking the halls and proud of the completed puzzles. Her pastimes included listening to country music on her TV and watching baseball and basketball. Shirley enjoyed long visits on the phone and in person with special friends and family members. Shirley had a strong Christian faith in her Lord. She loved eating angel food cake and pizza.
Shirley is survived by one brother, Glen (Debra) Weight, one sister, Darlene Weight, all of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Eleanor Weight, LaMoure; a niece, Jill Cooper and nephews, Brian and Brent Weight, Christopher and Eric Nordquist. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Bernard Weight; a sister Carol Nordquist and brother-in-law, Lowell Nordquist; and a nephew, Bill Weight.
