JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – All ages, all abilities.

That’s the mission for Zot Artz, a program created by Dwayne Szot that makes creating art inclusive and available to every age and ability.

A 20×20 canvas was laid out on the street next to the Hansen Arts Park where wheelchairs were outfitted with a unique rolling device that allowed users to be creative.

“Zot Artz adaptive tools and assistive technology transform wheelchairs into huge paintbrushes or chalk drawers, creating large or small works of art, indoors or out,” they state on their website. “Children of all abilities and ages can stamp, draw, and print to make their mark. It’s all play, but they learn, explore and develop skills while having fun together.”

The Anne Carlsen Center brought back Zot Artz after a few years hiatus due to COVID-19. It was held in coordination with the Jamestown Arts Center during their weekly Downtown Arts Market.

Because it’s been a few years since the last event, Anne Carlsen Activities Director Denise Jensen Jensen says she was excited to have Zot Artz back, adding they’re appreciative of the communities support in bringing events like this to the area.

Participants were able to join Zot Artz, do some pottery, and enjoy live music by the FM Dixie Band Thursday, Aug. 4. Find some pictures and video from the event below.
