VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – After 47 years on the air, Tim Ost (TOST in the Morning) will be leaving his morning show after his shift on Friday, September 23rd. Tim will stay on in radio sales with i3G Media in Valley City.

A party recognizing Tim Ost and his contributions to the company and the radio industry will be held Friday, September 23rd from 11am to 1pm in the KOVC Studio located at 136 Central Avenue North in downtown Valley City. All are welcome to come in and share memories of (TOST in the Morning) and have a few refreshments and goodies Friday from 11am to 1pm.

Steve Urness will step into the morning show shift beginning Monday, September 26th. Urness will be joined by Ryan Cunningham for the morning show shift starting Monday, October 3rd.

Tim is married to his wife Nancy, a retired teacher from the Valley City School District. The couple have three grown children, Tiffany, Kellie and Shane as well as 6 grandchildren.

OST ATTENDED DICKINSON STATE UNIVERSITY AND GRADUATED WITH A 2 YEARS ASSOCIATE ARTS DEGREE.

INTERNED AT KEYJ RADIO IN JAMESTOWN AND WAS HIRED ON JUNE 1, 1975. WAS AN ON-AIR AND SPORTS ANNOUNCER THERE FOR 2 YEARS.

IN 1977 WAS HIRED AT KKBJ IN BEMIDJI, MINNESOTA AS SPORTS DIRECTOR AND ON-AIR.

RETURNED BACK TO JAMESTOWN IN 1980 AND WAS HIRED BACK ON AT KEYJ AS PROGRAM DIRECTOR AND MUSIC DIRECTOR ALONG WITH ON-AIR DUTIES.

LEFT JAMESTOWN IN 1985 AND JOINED THE INGSTAD FAMILY AT KJJQ IN BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA AS PROGRAM DIRECTOR AND ON-AIR. TIM GOT HIS START IN SALES IN BROOKINGS.

MOVED TO VALLEY CITY IN DECEMBER OF 1991 TO TAKE ON MANAGERIAL DUTIES AT KOVC ALONG WITH SALES AND MORNING ON-AIR SHOW. SEMI-RETIRED IN 2018 STEPPING AWAY FROM MANAGEMENT FROM i3G MEDIA.
