The Jimmie baseball picked up a pair of conference wins over Hastings College on Saturday by scores of 12-4 and 13-11. Game two of the doubleheader saw the Jimmies storm back to claim the victory.

The first game was tied at 4 going into the third when Jamestown took control with eight runs over three innings.

Kendall Yackley, hitting leadoff for the first time this season, went 4-for-4 with a pair of stolen bases and two RBI to lead Jamestown.

Luke Zimmer improved to 5-0 on the hill, throwing a complete game to with six Ks and four runs given up off five hits.

The Jimmies trailed 3-0 going into the fourth inning in the nightcap, but scored six times to take a 6-3 lead. Payton Smith and Triston Madison each had two RBI.

Hastings regained the lead with a six-run fifth inning to put them up 11-7, but Jamestown caught fire in the seventh.

A wild pitch brought in the go-ahead run and Xander Orejudos finished the Jimmie scoring, drove in a run with a sacrifice fly to make it 13-11.

Hayden Brown got the win, striking out four over the final 2 1/3 innings to get the win.

Jamestown’s next doubleheader with Hastings on the following Sunday was canceled.
