VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Have you ever dreamed of meeting a Pro Bowler? Well 48 years have passed since Valley City has had a Pro Bowler visit.

On Tuesday May 23, at 7pm the Valley City USBC Association along with Sky Lanes have the honor of hosting Pro Bowler Marshall Kent for a Meet and Greet. Area youth bowlers will have the opportunity to bowl with a Pro and get a few tips from Marshall Kent.

Kent’s many career honors include 5 PBA titles, 11-year member of Team USA and Two-time Collegiate Player of the year.

Kent is in North Dakota promoting the Farmers Union Insurance PBA Midwest Open Championship tournaments to be held at Sunset Lanes, Moorhead on June 13-14, and Midway Lanes Mandan June 16-18. Each center is also sponsoring a Charitable Pro/Am Team Event with proceeds going to support the next Veterans Honor Flight of ND/MN.

Kent along with business partner Jay Fetting (Bismarck) are JMar Entertainment and responsible for bringing these tournaments to North Dakota, hoping to make it an annual event. Some of the well-known PBA bowlers coming to compete EJ Tackett, Jakob Butturff, Brad Miller, Tom Smallwood, Kris Prather, Kyle Sherman, and AJ Johnson. Many local North Dakota and multi state area top amateur bowlers will be competing against the touring pros. Including two from the Valley City Association.

Each event will have food vendors, music, yard games, art and craft booths, inflatables for kids and a beer garden for adults, creating a Street Fair atmosphere.
