OMAHA, NE – One goal now cannot be reached for Jamestown Jimmies Baseball, but others remain.

Bellevue took a 2-1 10-inning win Friday in game one of a doubleheader to clinch the last NSAA regular season championship at John Stella Field at Brown Park.  Bellevue then completed the doubleheader sweep with an 8-3 win.

Jamestown still will have an opportunity to earn the program’s first NAIA Tournament bid since 2019 if they win next week’s NSAA Tournament.

Game 1: (24)Bellevue 2, Jamestown 1 (10)
In a game with remarkable pitching on both sides, a bunt single by Anthony Lind brought home the winning run with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th to clinch the sixth consecutive conference regular season title for Bellevue (33-13, 16-1 NSAA).

Ben Bohlmann (2-2) was in his fourth full inning of relief for Jamestown (32-13, 11-6) after entering the game in the sixth inning and having pitched three and a third scoreless innings. With one out, he allowed an infield hit to Jake Lacey, followed by walks to Ayden Makarus and Elijah Tanner. Ethan Petty then entered the game and yielded Lind’s winning hit.

Jamestown scored their run in the first inning on an RBI single by Jordan Singleton.

Bellevue tied the game on a third inning RBI single by Logan Grant.

The Jimmies had a chance to take the lead in the top of the seventh inning. Isaiah Roebuck singled to lead the inning off, then was bunted to second by Ben Patton. With two out, Varen Sabino bounded an infield hit, but as Roebuck tried to score from second, he was thrown out at the plate by Bellevue’s CJ Townsend.

Avery Liestman started for Jamestown and allowed a run and five hits in five and two-thirds innings.

Starter Parker McMan went nine innings for Bellevue, striking out six.

Game 1: (24)Bellevue 8, Jamestown 3 (7)
Bellevue (34-13, 17-1) is the top home run-hitting team in the NSAA and one of the 20 best in the country, and the Bruins used their power to complete the sweep.

Makarus homered twice, a three-run blast in the first inning and a solo shot in the sixth. Tanner socked a two-run homer in the fourth.

Triston Madison drove in all three runs for Jamestown (32-14, 11-7), one when he reached on an error and the other two on a sixth-inning double that brought UJ within 6-3.

Jimmie starter Luke Zimmer (6-4) allowed six runs and six hits in four and a third innings.
