JAMESTOWN – A good recent stretch for Jamestown Blue Jays Girls Hockey was blunted, at least for now, by the first-place team on Tuesday.
Kenleigh Fischer scored four goals and an assist as Fargo North/South defeated Jamestown 6-3 at Wilson Arena.
Fischer helped set up the first goal for the Spruins (9-1-0-0, 9-0-0-0 League), a power play tally by Teagan Gunderson with just 50 seconds left in the first period.
Fischer then scored the first of her goals just 34 seconds into the second period.
At 4:31, Jamestown (3-6-0-1, 3-6-0-0) came to within a goal as Ty Sortland scored her first, assisted by Gabby Kolden.
Later in the period, Fischer struck twice for Fargo North/South with a goal at 6:53 and a power play goal at 14:21.
Stella Belzer’s second goal with 1:48 left in the middle period left the Blue Jays down 4-2 after two. Addy Gerhardt and Izzy Maddock assisted.
Grace Allmaras scored her team-high eighth goal on the power play, assisted by Layni Bakalar and Belzer, at 6:21 of the third period and JHS was within 4-3.
But Gunderson scored her second of the game just 47 seconds later for Fargo North/South and Fischer scored her fourth of the night at 13:14.
Fischer has 16 goals to lead all girls’ scorers.
Ady Bakalar made 37 stops in net for Jamestown, who was outshot 43-15.
