Oakes, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Tornados picked up their 3rd win of the season as they beat the Lisbon Broncos by a score of 6-3 on April 22nd. They rode a 6 run 3rd inning and a pitching gem from Zade Heier to the victory.

The game started out with a pitchers dual with Heier facing 3 over the minimum through the first 3 innings of work while Cruz Reinke would strike out the first 6 straight Oakes batters of the game.

The Tornados would blow the game open in the 3rd inning as Jaxson Gebhardt would reach on a 1-out walk, followed by Landon Titus reaching on a HBP with 2-outs. Heier would also walk aboard to load the bases. Joseph Dobitz would send a ground ball back up the middle to score 2 runs making it 2-0. Jack Thorpe would then hit a ball to right getting past Bryar Differding for a triple making it 4-0. Thorpe would be driven in by a Trey Miles single down the left field line. Miles would then score on a wild pitch later on in the inning to make it a 6-0 game before Reinke would get the final out of the inning.

Heier would continue to dominate till the 6th when he’d walk Zac Ward. Ward would then get all the way to 3rd off of a couple wild pitches. Kruz Johnson would drive him in on a fielders choice. Heier would be replaced by Dobitz in the final frame. Differding would walk aboard followed by Reinke singling. Differding would then score on an E6 followed by Rylan Moss driving in Rienke on a walk. The Broncos would leave the bases loaded however as Dobitz would get the final out to win the game 6-3.

The Bank North Player of the Game was Zade Heier.
