FARGO, N.D. (LWVND) – With absentee and mail voting beginning, the League of Women Voters of North Dakota (LWVND) is helping voters prepare to cast their ballot in North Dakota’s June 9th State Primary.
VOTE411.org is the League of Women Voters’ one-stop shop for election information and tools for voters to navigate the voting process with confidence. The resource is available nationwide, and LWVND publishes its nonpartisan voter guide on the site for North Dakota voters to research their ballot information.
“From park board to U.S. House, it’s important that voters in North Dakota make their voices heard in the June 9th election,” said Kathy Tweeten, LWVND president. “Our voter guide makes it easier for voters to research who and what is on their ballot— all in one place.”
LWVND’s voter guide is designed to help voters understand where candidates stand on the issues. Candidates respond to questions in their own words, and voters can compare candidate responses. The guide also includes a summary of the statewide ballot measure to make it easier for voters to be informed.
“We’re pleased to provide this trusted, nonpartisan resource,” said Tweeten. “Voters deserve to hear directly from candidates running for office in their communities. We’re asking candidates to respond so voters will know where they stand.”
Voters can go to VOTE411.org now through Election Day and enter their address on the homepage to access the voter guide.
To vote in North Dakota, you must be a US citizen, a North Dakota resident for at least 30 days, and at least 18 years old by Election Day. North Dakota is the only state without voter registration, but you must have a valid form of ID in order to cast a ballot.
