JAMESTOWN – While Bennett Goehner had two good games at the plate, the Jamestown Eagles again found a tough time against a AA Legion opponent.

Fargo Post 400 swept a doubleheader from Jamestown 7-4 and 5-2 Tuesday at Jack Brown Stadium.  Goehner drove in two runs in each game.

Game 1: Fargo Post 400 7, Jamestown 4
Goehner hit a two-run home run to left field in the bottom of the third inning for a 2-1 lead for Jamestown (9-11, 3-8 AA Legion).

Fargo Post 400 (10-11, 3-4) rebounded in the top of the fourth inning with two runs to grab the lead to stay. Ethan Doll’s sacrifice fly, for his second of three RBI in the game, gave the Stars a 3-2 lead.

Max Amerman doubled in two more for the visitors in the fifth, but the Eagles scored twice in their half on a wild pitch and a Brady Nenow fielder’s choice.

The Stars provided themselves insurance with two runs in the seventh on a bunt single by Doll and a double by Colby Hanson.

Game 2: Fargo Post 400 5, Jamestown 2
Fargo Post 400 (11-11, 4-4 AA Legion) took the lead early and held on.

Amerman hit a two-run single in the second for the Stars, who then took a 3-0 lead in the top of the third when a Shane Martin wild pitch scored a run.

An error by Jamestown (9-12, 3-9) widened the Stars’ lead to 4-0 in the top of the fourth. In the bottom half, Goehner, who was 3-for-3, singled in a run.

Another Eagles error scored Fargo Post 400’s final run in the sixth.

Goehner hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh.
