VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City July bluegrass jam sessions are scheduled for Saturday, July 11 at the Vault Coffee Shop. The 11:00 am – Noon Jam/Class is for beginners looking to learn how to play basic acoustic bluegrass backup in order to participate in jam sessions.  Instruments included are six-string guitar, fiddle, mandolin, 5-string banjo, slide Dobro, upright bass,  and ukulele. Demonstration instruments are on hand to try out. The songs mostly use just two chords and the pace is moderate. No charge to participate.

The 1:00 – 5:00 pm regular open jam session is for musicians with their basic instrumental skills in place. The same acoustic instruments are included as the 11 am class except not the ukulele.
