
Lisbon, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Class B American Legion State Tournament began in Lisbon on July 31st. All LaMoure, Lisbon and Edgeley games can be heard on KDDR The Tornado and online at NewsDakota.com.

Game 1: LaMoure Post 19 3-7 Grafton Post 41

LaMoure struggled to get rolling as Grafton would pick up the first round win 7-3. Grafton got the scoring started with a run on a hit in the 2nd inning. They would then score 2 more runs in the 3rd on 3 hits and a passed ball to make it 3-0. LaMoure would score a run in the bottom half of that inning off of 3 hits. Grafton would respond immediately with 3 more runs on 4 hits and chasing Mason Warcken from the game in the 4th. They would expand their lead in the 6th with 1 run on 2 hits in the 6th. LaMoure would score a run in the 6th and 7th but were unable to get any more as they would fall 7-3.
The winning pitcher was Trenton Keena (6.2 IP, 9 H, 1 BB, 11 K, 3 R, 2 ER) and the loss was issued to Mason Warcken (3.2 IP, 7 H, 3 BB, 8 L, 6 R, 5 ER).
LaMoure will play in the loser out game tomorrow at 10:30 am and Grafton will play at 4:00 pm.
Game 2: Edgeley Post 146 5-4 Burlington Bulldogs

Edgeley picked up their first ever State Tourney win in their first ever State Tourney game as they beat Burlington 5-4. Edgeley would strike first with a Drew Thorpe 2 run triple to make it 2-0 in the 3rd inning they would tack on 2 more runs in the inning to make it 4-0. Burlington would strike back cutting the lead in half scoring 2 runs on 1 hit in the bottom of the 3rd. They would tie it with 2 unearned runs in the 4th to make it 4-4. Edgeley would get the go ahead run in the top of 6th as Kade Nitschke would walk in the run making it 5-4. Trent Johnson who came in relief in the 4th inning struck out 5 straight to secure the first ever State Tourney win at 5-4.
The winning pitcher was Trent Johnson (3.1 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 9 K, 0 R) and the losing pitcher was Wesley Karhoff (2.1 IP, 4 H, 1 BB, 2 K, 1 R, 1 ER).
Edgeley will get Grafton at 4:00 pm tomorrow night. Burlington will play LaMoure at 10:30 am.

A litany of errors sinks Lisbon as Garrison wins 14-7. The game started with Garrison striking first scoring 3 runs in the top of the 1st. Lisbon would take the lead in the bottom of the 1st making it 4-3 but Garrison would battle back immediately to make it a tie game after 2. Garrison would then score 5 runs in the 4th and 4 more in the 5th to take a dominant lead they would not give up as Lisbon would score 1 in the 4th and 2 in the 5th to make it 13-7. Garrison would tack 1 more run on in the 7th to win 14-7.
The winning pitcher was Mason Skachenko (5.0IP, 7H, 3BB, 6K, 7R, 5ER) the losing pitcher was Eli Lyons (3.1IP, 9H, 2BB, 3K, 9R, 6ER)
Lisbon will play in game 6 tomorrow in a loser out against Velva. Garrison will play against Thompson tomorrow in the night cap.
