HASTINGS, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – People from several surrounding communities gathered in Hastings, North Dakota on Saturday, August 29th to celebrate 10 years of hard work bringing the 1908 Hotel Hastings back to life. Owners Will and Stephanie Pieper dressed in 1908 clothing to commemorate the open house of their renovated hotel.
Barnes County Museum curator Wes Anderson entertained the crowd by giving rides in his 1901 Oldsmobile to the delight of many attendees. In conjunction with this event the Hastings Fire Department held a fundraiser and silent auction serving hamburgers, hotdogs, French fries, and several homemade bake goods. Patrons filled two boots with free will donations to benefit the commitment for our first responders in Hastings.

Reporter Steve Urness got a ride in that 1901 Oldsmobile with Wes Anderson, as we took a few laps within the city of Hastings, I interviewed Wes about the history of the historic vehicle and a big event coming to Valley City in 2027 during annual community days.
