
CARRINGTON, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – A six-run third inning by Jamestown’s Post 14 Blues helped lead the way as Jamestown took down Carrington 12-1 in five innings.
Starting pitcher Reagan Sortland of the Blues tossed a complete game, going five innings and striking out four en route to the victory. The lone rune Sortland gave up came during the bottom of the fifth when Grady Shipman brought home Ethan Buskness on a fielder’s choice. Carrington starter Austin Trelstad was handed the loss after going two innings and allowing three earned runs and giving up four hits.
Talan Winsted led the Blues at the plate by going 1-for-1 with two walks, two runs scored, and two runs driven in. Ashton Stockert finished the day 2-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen bag, and Tyson Jorrison was 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two driven in.
At the plate for Carrington, Brock Fike recorded the only two hits for Post 25, going 2-for-2 with two singles. As a team, Carrington committed four errors defensively which led to six Jamestown runs scoring. Post 25 is now 5-3 on the year with a district record of 5-3 overall as well.
