The Oakes Community Choir will present a Christmas cantata, “Lead Me Back to Bethlehem” by Pepper Choplin, on Sunday, December 11, at 3:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church, Oakes.   This year’s cantata is being performed in honor or Michele Kelly Rodine, a young mother of five who is fighting her battle with breast cancer. 

Members from several churches in Oakes are participating in the choir, and they have been enthusiastically preparing the cantata at rehearsals this fall.  The choir is directed by Sue German, with Denise German as piano accompanist, and Wally Geske on bass guitar.

Concert-goers may participate in a free-will offering that will go toward Michele Kelly Rodine, Kevin, and their family.  The choir is blessed to share this year’s Christmas story in Michele’s honor, offer our daily prayers for her, and to offer our monetary support, as well.  Sweet treats and beverages will be served in the church Fellowship Room following the cantata performance for all in attendance.
