(NewsDakota.com) – First Avenue South in downtown Jamestown will have lane restrictions and closures Thursday morning to allow for placement of mechanical equipment on an adjacent building, the city engineer’s office said Wednesday.

Before 7 a.m., the northbound lanes of First Avenue South will have lane restrictions in the 200 block. The northbound lanes will then be closed completely in the 200 block between about 8:30 and 11:30 a.m.

The city says northbound traffic will be detoured to Second Avenue Southwest. The sidewalk in the closure area will also be closed to pedestrian traffic.

The city asks people to use caution if traveling in the area. The closures may be postponed if wind conditions do not allow for safe placement of the mechanical equipment.
