(NewsDakota.com) – The Supreme Court upheld the federal health care reform law in a decision announced Thursday morning.

Robin Iszler, Unit Administrator at Central Valley Health District — the public health unit in Stutsman and surrounding counties – says the public health unit did not have an official stance on the healthcare act, but she had this reaction Thursday morning.

Iszler says the act has some provisions and ideas that are in line with public health’s goals, such as more preventative healthcare.

Meanwhile, community health centers in North Dakota are applauding the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the federal health care law. Community Health Care Association of the Dakotas spokeswoman Stacie Fredenburg says the high court’s decision Thursday should allow the state’s 15 health centers to continue to expand and be funded.
